Empire State Building on a foggy night
I was staying in New York City for business and booked an inexpensive hotel (by New York Standards), the Hyat Place New York / Midtown South , and was delighted to find that my room had this outstanding view of the Empire State Building. It was a foggy night and the view was constantly changing, so I slept with the window open so I could easily see what was going on if I woke up during the night, and take pictures if appropriate. This shot was taken at 3:52am New York time! I used my compact Lumix LX7, handheld sticking slightly out of the window which would only open 6 inches or so. But the LX7 is great in low light and did a good job.
