A Steller's sea eagle in the remote town of Rausu on the island of Hokkaido, at the northern tip of Japan. About 2000 of them spend the winter in this area, out of a total estimated population of 5000 - the rest are found in the even more remote subarctic Kamchatka Peninsula in Eastern Russia. They are among the largest eagles in the world.
